Hamilton’s Pets at Home will be joining the other 35 stores across Scotland in a Halloween themed fundraiser, to raise money for the Scottish SPCA.
The even will be held in store over the weekend of the 29th and the 30th of October, where customers will have the chance to take part in a variety of different activities, as well as offer donations to the charity based organisation.
William Johnston, manager of the Hamilton store said: “There’ll be a cake sale, wee games for kids, and colouring competitions. We’ve got some posters made up which one of my colleagues is going to get round about the area. We’re going to be dressing up and stuff. There’s a doggy costume competition as well, that always goes down a treat with the customers.
“We’ll have a stall out, so we’ll have the wee buckets where customers can put their change and stuff in, but we’ve got the donate button on the till which will go straight to the SSPCA. I’d like to do at least £500 for the weekend, the guys seem to be putting in quite a bit of effort, so hopefully we can get that.”
Pets At Home’s spooktacular weekend are one of the many ways people can help to raise money for the Scottish SPCA, as well as food donations, corporate giving, and Gift Aid.
Michaela Rusack, SSPCA marketing and funraising executive, said:
“We are appealing for kind volunteers to help fundraise within their local store and raise much needed funds for Scotland’s abused, abandoned and injured animals.
“We receive no government or lottery funding so rely entirely on donations to be able to continue our wok in Scotland.”
